One reason for many people to do replications is that it might take individuals too long to get an answer. I was lucky; I estimate that I had a 36.9% chance of observing a statistically-significant effect with just 22 poems. If I had shared 80 poems over nearly three months, I would have a much better chance of observing the effect.
If several people were to do this experiment as well, we could get to an answer much more quickly. With 80 people, we might get a rough answer within 24 hours (though we might want to run it longer to be sure the effect wasn’t just something about that one day).
